In the decades of 1980 and 1990 saw in Peru with greater intensity action of terrorist groups. The Túpac Amaru Revolutionary Movement (MRTA) and the Shining Path Communist Party (PCP-SL) declared war on Peru. Armed actions began at the universities in Ayacucho, and extended to the central highlands and much of the country. Jungle runners related to the planting of the coca leaf were the favourite places, flying electricity towers, bridges and murdered local authorities and police officers. Over the course of the years and in view of the violent and indiscriminate military police response, Shining Path (PCP-SL) approached cities starting urban terrorism. The "modus operandi" MRTA was similar, although initially tried to "make-up" their actions respecting populations and facing the police forces and armed forces. Arriving to the Presidency of the Republic Alberto Fujimori Fujimori achievement, at the end of his second mandate objectively reduce to a minimum the actions of Shining Path (PCP-SL) and produced extinction of the MRTA.
Farmers suffered these decades of horror, subjected to violence by terrorist groups and the forces of the nation. These terror troops were looting and killing without risk, abduct children, decapitate people, crushing skulls stone against stone. On the other hand groups of recruits, many distant and unknown lands in fear of their lives or be crippled clung to their weapons and saw suspects in every Bush and every house. The peasant, the mother and her children fled in the night to take refuge in the mountains with the horror to slopes.
In this scenario is "scare" of women transmitted their daughters: Milk of Sorrow, is that inherits Post-Traumatic Syndrome. These painful events not only have consequences in number of dead or injured, or people with Post-Traumatic Syndrome, they produced a large migration to the capital cities of Department and Lima capital of Peru. This new aggressive environment develops the plot of the movie. Milk of Sorrow is an Andean legend and is a modern fact, is also the story of Magaly Solier that small woman who sold "Puca Picante" in the square of the town, its Ayacucho * wanted and was the place where the filmmaker Claudia Llosa decides that he had found his character. The story of Magaly Solier singing in quechua in the 2009 Berlinale to win the Golden Bear. This is a magical story that you must have a happier ending March 7 when Magaly Solier bring the OSCAR to Peru and carried it Manchay, the surrealist scene of the film, as a tribute to women in the country that helped win the war to horror.
